HCM (South Wales) Ltd. – A Company History

THEN ......
In March 1980 Ken Riches and his father Laurie took over a semi-derelict one-room shop on Tredworth High Street in Gloucester, brought a battered old van for £150 and started HCM - then standing for Hydraulics and commercial Manufactures.

In September 1983 came the first move - to Eastville Close on the Eastern Avenue Trading Estate with 1765 sq ft of floor space. By this time. HCM (then trading as the Gloucester Hydraulic Centre) had a work force of eight and the momentum was really building up.

AND NOW .....
In January 1998 came the real breakthrough to the big league with the move to our current premises in South Wales, with up to four times more floor space and a greater height capacity giving us greater capabilities.

Today we have a workforce of 24 - all specialists in their particular area. And HCM now stands for Hydraulic Cylinder Management because that’s what we do and we’re the best in the field.
